The Gospel
Gospel literally means ‘good news’. And this is the good news – For God (the Father) so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
1. Jesus came to reconcile us to the Father, to bring us home to the Father heart of God.
2. Jesus is the way to the Father
One of the reasons Jesus came to earth is to show us the way. John 14:5-7 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

4. Jesus taught us to pray to the Father in the Lord’s prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen.
5. The prodigal son story
